VA Boston's TRACTS, the Transitional Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders was selected from more than 50 other nominees to share their TRACTS research program with the nation during a Research Forum held at VA Central Office in April.

The meeting centered around "Caring for Veterans through Discovery and Collaboration," and was attended by Veterans and their families, VA investigators, and Veteran Service Organizations.

Brendan O'Byrne and Sharee Holmes, two of TRACTS research participants, attended the meeting and told the VA and guests of their personal sacrifices and struggles since returning from OEF and OIF, respectively.

TRACTS was also featured in a video premiering at the meeting. Click to watch the video click HERE

In this powerful video, TRACTS Veterans describe their experiences in theater, as well as some problems  they face as a result, including issues related to mild traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress disorder. Researchers also describe the approach that TRACTS is taking to understand and help our new generation of Veterans.
