About the Program
This program provides help and services to homeless women veterans, their children, and women veterans at risk for becoming homeless in Boston and the surrounding areas.
Services available:
Specialized treatment for women with a variety of mental health and substance abuse problems
Work on behalf of women veterans within the VA system and community agencies
Homeless prevention through collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services, Women Veterans' Network, and the Governor's Council
Assistance in navigating systems such as: courts, housing agencies, Social Security Administration, and Veterans Benefits Administration
Help in securing safe and affordable housing
Referral to the women's program at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans
Related Women's Health Services include:
Women’s Comprehensive Primary Care: services include primary care, gynecology, birth control, breast health, and nutrition
Coordination of care with outpatient and inpatient medical, mental health, or substance abuse programs at the West Roxbury, Brockton, and Bedford VA campuses
Who can receive help?
Women veterans who meet the criteria for VA services with a general, honorable, or medical discharge and who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless.
