Susan MacKenzie, PhD 

Susan A. MacKenzie, Ph.D., was appointed Associate Medical Center Director for VA Boston Healthcare System in July of 2004.  As Associate Director, Dr. MacKenzie is responsible for the financial and administrative operations of the VA Boston Healthcare System, one of the largest VA facilities in the country. Prior to this appointment, Dr. MacKenzie served as the Deputy Network Director of the VA New England Healthcare System, comprised of 8 VA Medical Centers in New England.

Dr. MacKenzie is a graduate of the 1999 Leadership VA Program. She is an Associate Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Member of Women in Health Care Management. Dr. MacKenzie received her Bachelor's degree in Health Science and Master of Public Administration from Northeastern University and graduated in 2002 with a Doctorate in Health Policy. Dr. MacKenzie’s previous VA experience includes a number of progressively responsible appointments in Boston, including Staff Assistant to the Medical Center Director, Assistant Chief, Medical Administration Service and Quality Management Coordinator for Accreditation.
