Featured Profile: Paul Conlin, M.D.
Paul R. Conlin, M.D. is Interim Chief of the Medical Service at VA Boston Healthcare System, a member of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
He graduated from Boston College and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and a research and clinical fellowship in Endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Dr Conlin's research involves studying methods to improve diabetes and blood pressure control through lifestyle modifications, care management and telehealth technologies. He is Principal Investigator on studies funded by the National Institutes of Health, VA Office of Research and Development, and the Department of Defense.
Dr. Conlin is Director of the VA Ocular Telehealth Center at VA Boston, which is a multidisciplinary group whose mission is to improve access to eye care for patients with diabetes mellitus through the use of digital imaging and information technology. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Boston VA Research Institute, a non-profit research organization supporting research at VA Boston Healthcare System. He also serves as Program Director in the Scholars in Clinical Sciences Program at Harvard Medical School, a training program that teaches physicians the skills to become patient-oriented research investigators.
